Important Flood Update Friday Morning 9/3/2012
As you will no doubt be aware, there is a significant rain event occurring throughout the region and importantly in the upper reaches of our catchment area.
The NSW SES is advising that minor flooding is expected at North Richmond and at Windsor today on Friday 9th March 2012.
The Hawkesbury River level is expected to reach 8.0 metres at the North Richmond Bridge flood gauge at around 9:00am on Friday 9th March 2012. The Hawkesbury River level is expected to reach 5.8 metres at the Windsor Bridge flood gauge at around 12:00pm on Friday 9th March 2012. By these levels both the Windsor bridge and the North Richmond Bridge will be closed to pedestrian and vehicle traffic, they are expected to close in the later hours of Friday morning.
A decision has been made to ask parents who live in the flood plain and in particular on the western side of the Hawkesbury River to keep their children at home.
We are mindful of the implications with respect to child minding but of paramount importance is the safety of your children and staff in our care.
The College will be open for all other students and programs will continue as normal.
